Credifi Secure Verification privacy notice

Last updated: July 22, 2026

Credifi Secure Verification is a browser extension that confirms a user has access to a Credit Karma account in their name and has a valid credit score before Credifi retrieves a separate credit-bureau report. It creates a cryptographic proof of selected identity and displayed credit-score information from the user's own account.

Information handled

When the user starts and approves a verification, the extension handles:

The extension does not ask for or transmit the user's Credit Karma username or password to Credifi. It does not collect general browsing history or data from unrelated websites.

How information is used

Credifi uses the verified Credit Karma score for a preliminary threshold screen that determines whether to proceed with a separate paid credit-bureau report and financial review. The Credit Karma score is not used in Credifi's later loan underwriting, does not approve a loan, and does not determine loan amount, pricing, or terms.

The extension does not perform the preliminary decision. The Credifi server validates the proof and applies the threshold. The extension contains no minimum score or rejection logic.

Sharing and sale

The selected proof data is sent to Credifi's verifier and backend to complete the user-requested verification. Credifi does not sell extension data, use it for advertising, or share it for unrelated purposes. Service providers may process data only to operate and secure the verification service, subject to Credifi's instructions.

Credifi Secure Verification's use of information received through Chrome extension permissions adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data obtained through the extension is used only to provide or improve the extension's disclosed single purpose and related security and reliability operations.

Security and retention

Data is protected in transit. Credifi stores the verification result and audit information according to its security and retention requirements. Credit Karma login credentials remain in the user's browser and are not stored by Credifi.

User choice

The extension runs only after the user starts the verification from Credifi and approves the request. The user may cancel before sharing a proof and may uninstall the extension at any time.
